Projects

I love working on projects that bring people together, give Black people an opportunity to connect with our heritage and create space for healing. Here’s a sample of my work.

Self-Care Sunday

Launched in 2020, Self-Care Sunday is a one-day wellness festival designed to educate and inspire. Through this event, I bring together Accra’s leading wellness professionals and small businesses to create a day of fitness, relaxation and community. We are always on the lookout for sponsors and partners who are also committed to the health and wellbeing of Ghanaians – if that’s you, get in touch!

Altar Installation at VOICES! Launch

VOICES! is an interdisciplinary performance arts project and campaign grounded in Black women’s stories by V-Day. It was my honour to curate an altar space for the launch of this campaign in Accra, Ghana. The altar, which I curated alongside aja monet and Helen Peña was designed to be a celebration of Divine feminine energy through an African lens and a space for guests to reflect, connect and be inspired.

Black Founders Fest

White privilege exists in majority Black countries in the same way it does in the West. Westerners with more access to funding, mobility and mentorship than locals benefit from low-cost labour and resources, building brands that may look ‘African’ but often do little to correct the imbalances they benefit from. Black Founders Fest is a one-day conference that brings together founders from some of the most exciting Black and Ghanaian-owned brands in Ghana to share their stories and advice with aspiring entrepreneurs. The inagural BFF was held in December 2021 and featured the founders of much-loved brands including Afrochella, Skin Gourmet, Threaded Tribes and Chale Socks. If you’re interested in sponsoring or speaking at the next event, get in touch.
